What the client required
The client wanted to create a web application that could be used via the mobile phone's browsers, such as Safari, and Android's Chrome.
When the user logs into the application, it will show the closest 10 public places such as restaurants, hotels, retailers and services, and instead of checking in, users set a rating of like or dislike. Within dislike they can choose three criteria, e.g. food, service and atmosphere for restaurants, or cleanliness, customer service and value for hotels. After the user has rated a place, the system sends an email notification to the owner or manager of the place.
What we implemented
We implemented an administrator interface based on CakePHP, a rapid development PHP framework, where the service administrator is able to add, delete and edit information about places, and can see visitors' ratings.
An additional interface makes it possible for the owner or manager of the place to see visitors' ratings as daily, weekly or monthly charts.
As the main part of the solution, APRO developed a mobile web application using the iQTouch plugin, which fulfils the required workflow for the web application. The rating system is based on a simple "thumbs up" or "thumbs down" icon, and the user can rate entries according to several criteria, such as atmosphere, food and service.
